Dan Carden

Founder and Co-director

Dan Carden is the Member of Parliament for Liverpool Walton and importantly, in recovery from alcohol addiction.

In July 2021, Dan shared in the House of Commons his experiences of alcoholism and the freedom of recovery. The response to Dan’s disclosure demonstrated the scale of the harms and the growing level of unmet need across the country.

From this point on, Dan has championed visible recovery and partnered with addiction charities to affect change in addiction related policies.

Dan is Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Drugs, Alcohol and Justice and Vice Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Alcohol Harm.

Farah Sassoon

Co-director

Farah Sassoon is the founder and Director of Trust Reservations, a company that specialises in event and conference management. She has 25 years experience working with trade unions and business.

Farah is passionate about reducing health inequalities and widening access to treatment and care services.

Melissa Rice

Operations manager

Melissa is a recovering alcoholic, award winning podcaster and author. Since becoming sober, Melissa is determined to use her lived experience to bring about meaningful change and improve the lives of those in active addiction and recovery.

Currently, Melissa is Trustee of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, Special Adviser to the Alcohol Health Alliance and Policy Assistant.

Melissa oversees projects, campaigns, partnerships, and stakeholder networks.
